West Ham and Everton are set to compete for Lille’s teenage wonderkid Martin Terrier, according to a reliable journalist.
Guardian Sport’s deputy editor Ed Aarons revealed on his personal Twitter account that the Premier League duo are both eying the 19-year-old attacker and could make a move this month.

Breaking into Lille’s first team earlier this season, the exciting wide man has made a total of nine league and cup appearances.
Possessing plenty of pace from his preferred position of left wing, Lille’s number 28 also provides the Ligue 1 outfit with the ability take on a full-back with a dazzling, dribbling ability.
The Hammers are keen to add an attacker to their side this month, with the future of Dimitri Payet still unresolved as well as Italy international Simone Zaza’s departure to Valencia.
Everton could join them in looking to sign Terrier, after the season-long injury to £30million signing Yannick Bolasie and Gerard Deulofeu’s possible move to AC Milan grows.
Football Insider verdict:
Renowned as one of the brightest talents to come through Lille’s youth setup in recent years, Terrier would be a top signing for either Everton or West Ham should one of the sides look to grab him away from Lille’s clutches. Providing an attacking maturity and intelligence on the ball despite his tender age, Terrier would be fast tracked into the first-team at both sides and could give either a side an attacking boost in the second half of the Premier League season. However, with two and a half years remaining on his contract at Stade Pierre-Mauroy, it remains to be seen how much his current side would charge for the teenager with his development only likely to increase further.
In other West Ham transfer news, this Premier League captain is in advanced talks over a move to the London Stadium.
