Braiden Graham could be next Everton breakout star after what he just did
David Moyes must exploit Everton's talented Under-21s if the remaining fortnight of the summer window fails to reap transfer dividends.
So far, the Toffees have signed Hayden Hackney, Christian Norgaard and Brennan Johnson, with Angus Kinnear promising more in days to come.
The right-back position is obviously a priority, with links with Crystal Palace's Daniel Munoz, while the manager has sparked fury with his comments about Hackney.
Supporters are not hopeful ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, though, despite only narrowly missing out on Europe last term after a barren run.
The best clubs in the Premier League are never afraid to trust their youth. Look at Arsenal, who have Ethan Nwaneri, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Max Dowman.
At Manchester City, Phil Foden has grown into a key role, even if his form is often a major talking point throughout the season.
Braiden Graham shines for Everton Under-21s
Now, Moyes could turn his attention to the youngsters at Finch Farm, especially after the U21s display in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday, 18 August.
Although Stockport County won 6-3 at Edgeley Park, there was a lot to like about the performance from Dave Hughes' side in the competition.
After going three goals behind in the first half, the young Toffees fought back in style, with prolific young forward Braiden Graham grabbing two as they pulled the score back to 3-3.
His first was from the penalty spot, lashing home from 12 yards. Then, after dispossessing an opposition player in a dangerous area, he curled his second home beautifully.
The League One side would eventually go on to score three more in the final 15 minutes, but that couldn't take away from Graham's talents.
Why Everton's teenage sensation has a real shot at first-team action
Last season, the 18-year-old notched 21 goals and four assists in 30 appearances, leading the Toffees to a Premier League 2 play-off spot.
Primarily a left-winger, but also capable of starring in the middle or on the opposite flank, Moyes could promote him to the first team.
With Iliman Ndiaye now set to stay, the right flank is open to competition, with Johnson, Tyler Dibling and Tyrique George set to fight it out.
None of them have the full confidence of the supporters, so there is no reason why Graham can't state his case ahead of the new campaign.
