Everton could now sell Thierno Barry for 'huge' profit, they're sitting on a goldmine

Thierno Barry has not experienced the greatest of starts to life as Everton's star centre-forward, there is no doubt about that.

Eyebrows were raised when The Friedkin Group (TFG) splashed £27million on his signature, and his form in 2025-26 supported those concerns.

Despite notching 11 goals and four assists in 37 games for Villarreal, the move to England appeared a huge step up for him.

He finally opened his record in December 2025, 15 games into life on Merseyside, before a later flurry of goals eased worries about wasted money.

Even with a brace off the bench against Manchester City in May, his inconsistent numbers in front of goal had raised some alarm bells.

During pre-season, however, he has been far more convincing, and his 2026-27 campaign has kicked off with a bang. Let's hope it continues.

Thierno Barry bursts into life in 2026-27

Barry netted against Dundee, VfB Stuttgart and Newcastle United during the summer, and now has four goals in two games in 2026-27.

The 23-year-old helped David Moyes' side to an opening-day victory over Crystal Palace in the Premier League, only to shine further in the Carabao Cup.

He bagged a hat-trick against Preston on Wednesday, 26 August, before then assisting Brennan Johnson for his first goal in Everton colours.

With three goals, five chances created, eight shots, one big chance missed, two clearances and three recoveries, it was an almost-complete performance from the forward [FotMob].

This is exactly why the Toffees risked so much to sign the player, and if he continues in this vein of form, the club could be looking at a huge windfall.

TFG could cash in on Thierno Barry

It was understood earlier in the summer window that the Toffees wanted between £30m and £34.5m for Barry's signature amid interest from RB Leipzig.

Now, the France youth international looks to have finally discovered his best form and might be worth a lot more in future transfer windows.

The Friedkin Group (TFG) had plenty of questions to answer based on Barry's performances last season, but the transfer now looks like a masterstroke.

He's still a very raw player and is taking his time to adapt to the Premier League. The early signs are positive, though, and it could end in a huge payday for the Toffees.
