Everton: David Moyes likely given assurances of Jack Grealish transfer despite shattering financial blow
Everton don't expect their summer transfer business to be affected after being fined for breaching Premier League financial rules.
The Toffees have been told to pay Burnley £35million by the commission relating to breaking profit and sustainability regulations (PSR) during the 2021-22 campaign.
With the Blues already facing a points deduction for the breach, The Friedkin Group have every right to be frustrated by the new hearing.
One thing that David Moyes doesn't have to worry about is the latest punishment affecting Jack Grealish's possible move to Hill Dickinson Stadium, with the £35m penalty not expected to affect the Merseyside outfit's transfer business in the summer.
The Scottish manager has been assured that business will continue as normal for the Toffees in the coming weeks, with the Manchester City star and other targets surely topics of conversation.
The England international signed for the Merseysiders last summer and the forward has been linked with a return to L3 after his season was cut short in January due to an injury.
Jack Grealish proposal imminent at Everton
Speaking to talkSPORT on whether the £35m penalty would affect Everton's summer business, Moyes said, "They told me no. They told me that it wouldn’t have any effect on it.
"My understanding is that the Friedkins were aware of this when they were buying the club and there was a possibility this could happen. So, the answer to that is I really hope it has no effect on what we’re going to do in the summer."
The Toffees have a massive window coming up as fans expect TFG to back the Scottish manager by building a competitive squad ahead of next season.
With the Man City loanee playing a key role in L3, his return to the Blues feels like a no-brainer after he scored two goals and provided six assists in his 20 Premier League appearances for them.
Sources have told Football Insider that Grealish wants a permanent move to Hill Dickinson Stadium regardless of the managerial change at the Etihad Stadium.
Enzo Maresca has been heavily linked to replace Pep Guardiola at the Cityzens and the Italian manager is apparently prepared to hand the English attacker a lifeline next season.
David Moyes can't let history repeat at Hill Dickinson Stadium
Everton failed to sign a quality right-back last summer, which undoubtedly affected their performances later in the campaign.
Moyes was reluctant to play Seamus Coleman and Nathan Patterson, with Jake O'Brien's attacking frailties evident throughout the season.
Moyes can't allow TFG to leave him short on squad depth again at the Merseyside outfit, as multiple positions could certainly do with more quality at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
