Everton insider reveals update on David Moyes quitting the club - 'I know him well'
David Moyes could walk away from Everton if he is not backed by The Friedkin Group in the January transfer window.
That is according to former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who does not see him quitting the club unless further fall-outs take place.
Moyes has been vocal in his disappointment at the outcome of Everton's whirlwind summer transfer window.
The Toffees have been left with just 18 senior, outfield players after failing to bolster his squad in several different positions.
He will be working with that small group of players until January at least, when Everton must back him with several new additions.
If that does not happen, then Moyes may well see fit to quit as the Toffees manager and take another job.

Everton’s former chief Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – thinks several clubs could be interested in hiring Moyes in the new year.
He does not want to leave Everton just yet, but will stand by his principles and potentially walk out if the club does not boost his squad in January.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness explained: “There’s no way. I don’t see David doing that. David doesn’t bluff, he doesn’t play games. I know him well, obviously, from our time together at Everton, which was a very successful period. He loves the club, and when he said to the fans that their manager is an Evertonian, he can actually say that and know it’s true.
"I don’t see him walking away yet, but I think January is going to be quite important, because if he isn’t backed again then, I think everybody would understand if he was to move on. David’s stock is pretty high right now and I think there would be other suitors at that time of the season.”
Everton concerned about James Garner's future
There are plenty of question marks lingering over Everton right now, and Moyes' future is not their only concern.
Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Everton are worried that star midfielder Garner could be poached by a bigger club in the next 12 months.
Chelsea reportedly saw a late approach for his services rejected by Everton on Deadline Day, although Moyes denied any contact between the two clubs.
His performances under the Scot have attracted acclaim over the last two seasons, and he earned a maiden England call-up in March.
