West Ham United vs Everton: Everything David Moyes said on London Stadium return

West Ham and Everton are set to face off at the London Stadium, and David Moyes can massively damage his former club's chances of Premier League survival.

While the Toffees have a very real chance of securing European football, sitting in 10th, just three points behind sixth-place Brighton, the Hammers remain in a relegation battle at the bottom of the table.

Three of the previous four meetings between the two clubs have ended in draws, with the East London outfit's only victory coming thanks to two added-time goals back in March 2024.

Of course, a lot of the focus will be on Moyes' return to the London Stadium as West Ham and Everton go head-to-head, and the Scot has addressed the ongoing situation at his former club.

David Moyes believes West Ham are 'fighting for everything'

Moyes has yet to face the Hammers at the London Stadium since arriving on Merseyside, drawing both of his games against West Ham, either side of the switch to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Writing for Liverpool Echo (24 April), Joe Thomas paraphrased the boss' quotes, saying: "On West Ham, 'they are fighting for everything'. He says it is a really good club and he left a great group of people there.

"He believes they should not be in this position but that the Premier League is 'unforgiving'. Moyes believes managerial churn is not helpful. Is he surprised where they are given how he left them?

"'I felt probably the time I was there, we started to look like a side that wasn't going to get into this situation'"

Everton to take solace in West Ham's record with Stuart Attwell

Stuart Attwell will be in charge at the London Stadium, and looking at each club's records under the referee, there is one team that is likely to prefer the appointment.

The Hammers have lost 14 of their 25 under the official's guidance, with no wins in their last six.

Of course, their record with Attwell will only be a coincidence, but Everton should take great confidence in the appointment, especially given their own record with the referee in charge.

The Toffees have won three in a row when this official is in the middle, with the potential to make it six games unbeaten when they travel to the London Stadium.
