Everton defender Luca Davis is a loan target for a number of League One and League Two clubs this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Davis, 19, is highly regarded at Everton, and they are considering loaning him out so that he can get valuable first team experience.

The versatile defender signed his first professional contract in July 2025 after showing real promise at under-18 level.

Davis registered three goals and two assists in 19 games for the Toffees' under-21 side last term, so he is attracting attention from several EFL clubs.

He is a centre-back by trade, but can also feature at right-back after making seven appearances there in 2025-26.

Davis is not yet believed to be first-team ready for Everton, despite the departure of club legend Seamus Coleman this summer.

The 19-year-old would be an exciting and versatile defensive option for an EFL club aiming to win promotion next season.

Luca Davis could leave Everton on loan this summer

Davis' standout moment in the Toffees' academy so far came in April as he scored a spectacular long-range goal for the U21s in the Liverpool Senior Cup semi-final against Warrington Rylands.

He is highly thought of on Merseyside and Everton may feel that a first senior loan is the right next step for Davis as he harbours first-team ambitions.

His first professional contract is due to expire next summer, so a new deal could be penned before he heads out on loan.

Everton ready to pounce on Sol Gordon contract talks amid Chelsea stalemate

Everton lining up Sol Gordon move amid Chelsea uncertainty

The Toffees are keen on bolstering their youth ranks this summer after a wholly disappointing Premier League 2 campaign.

Youth boss Paul Tait is set to leave his position ahead of next season after leading his side to an 18th-placed finish.

Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Chelsea youngster Gordon is on Everton's radar as he enters the final year of his contract in West London.

Eighteen-year-old Gordon has scored regularly at youth level for the Blues in recent seasons, but found game time hard to come by at U21 level last season.

Everton are keen to snap him up this summer, but face competition from both Newcastle and Bournemouth.
