Thierno Barry has already told Everton to sign Karl Etta Eyong as path becomes clear
The 22-year-old is set to leave Spain this summer, and has already received two proposals from Premier League clubs.
The Toffees could well have made one of them, as they look to provide further competition for Beto and Thierno Barry.
Beto, in particular, could be at risk of leaving Everton this summer as his contract enters its final year.
Etta Eyong is also the subject of interest elsewhere, after he netted seven goals in La Liga this season.
Thierno Barry posted about Karl Etta Eyong
It has not been all smooth sailing for Barry in his first Premier League season since joining from Villarreal last summer, but it has been a solid introduction.
The striker, just 23, spent the opening months of the season limited to appearances off the bench before finally breaking through.
Around November, David Moyes began to persist with the Frenchman amid Beto's terrible form, and he was rewarded.
In the space of a couple of months, Barry scored against Nottingham Forest, Brentford, Aston Villa, Leeds United and Newcastle United.
That form did not continue until the end of the campaign as Beto came back into prominence, but the striker's brace off the bench against Manchester City was memorable.
Eyong, who, according to Ben Jacobs, can leave Levante for around £26m this summer and is prioritising a move to England, shares some similarities with Barry.
Just last summer, both players were at Villarreal, with the Cameroon international's breakout campaign coming the season after Barry's.
When Eyong finally broke through for Villarreal at the end of the 2024-25 season, his first La Liga goal was a winner in the closing stages against Girona.
"Vamos Etta, es tu momento", wrote Barry, who was not in the squad, on social media, a phrase meaning "Come on Etta, it's your time!"
Everton can reunite strike partnership
Interestingly, Barry and Etta Eyong have shared the pitch together, very briefly.
The pair were played up front together for 17 minutes at the back of both of their Villarreal careers.
Now, a year later, the pair may be reunited on Merseyside, of all places, should Everton pull the trigger.
Etta Eyong's arrival could allow Beto to exit the club, with just one year remaining on his contract.
