Everton set Jarrad Branthwaite valuation after two-year first

Everton still believe that centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite is an £80million player, sources have told Football Insider.

The Toffees have no plans to cash in on the 24-year-old, and still regard him as one of the Premier League's best defenders when he is fit.

Branthwaite was recently recalled to Thomas Tuchel's England squad, and Everton are well aware that international football will only enhance his growing reputation.

Sources say that while the Merseysiders do not want to lose the defender, they are confident that he will net them an eye-watering sum one day.

Branthwaite came off the bench late on during England's defeat to Spain in Nations League action, which earned him his first senior cap since 2024.

That came after an impressive start to the season with his club, and he hasn't missed a single minute of Premier League action so far in 2026-27.

Branthwaite has had to endure several prolonged injury issues in recent years, but that hasn't altered Everton's commitment to him at all.

The Toffees genuinely believe that they have one of the brightest centre-back prospects in English football, and are determined not to lose him any time soon.

They repeatedly rejected bids for him from Manchester United back in 2024, and remain adamant that they want to keep hold of him long-term.

Everton didn't lower their £80m valuation at all during Branthwaite's injury-hit campaign last term, and they are now hopeful that it will increase further if he remains fit in the coming years.

The former Carlisle United starlet's promising form has helped him force his way back into the England setup, and that will only be good news for Everton long-term.

Liverpool working on move to sign Branthwaite

Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider last week that Liverpool are working on a shock move to sign Branthwaite next summer.

The ex-recruitment chief outlined that the Reds have had scouts watching the defender at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on several occasions of late.

Brown made it clear that Liverpool are doing their "due diligence" on Branthwaite, and believe he "ticks a lot of boxes" as a potential replacement for Virgil van Dijk.

Everton have deen determined in their desire to keep hold of their star, but their resolve could soon be tested by their bitter rivals.
