Everton working on four more signings after getting Tyrique George and Hayden Hackney deals 'done' - Keith Wyness
Everton will follow their moves for Hayden Hackney and Tyrique George with the addition of another multiple forwards and full-backs.
That is according to former Toffees chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who believes that his former club are just days away from a pair of new additions.
This comes after the news that the Merseysiders have now resumed talks with Chelsea over a move for George, who was on loan at the Hill Dickinson Stadium in the second half of the season.
Wyness expects the 20-year-old forward to arrive swiftly after Hackney's transfer is confirmed, and feels that he can provide a "cutting edge" for Everton at the top of the pitch.
George started just one game during his loan spell and failed to notch a single goal involvement, but many supporters were keen to see him handed more minutes.
Nevertheless, the starlet has done enough to impress David Moyes, with the club now pushing to sign him long-term.
Everton prepared to pay £25m for Tyrique George
Everton’s former chief Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that the deal for George will ultimately be done at the £25million mark.
The Toffees had a purchase option set at that amount, but will now pay a smaller initial fee, with add-ons taking the deal up to £25m.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, Wyness has backed George to make a bigger impact at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this time around, but feels his arrival won't spell the end of the attacking additions.
"He (Hackney) is the first, and Tyrique George will be the second coming in. I think that'll get done pretty quickly," he said.
"Lower than the agreed price for the confirmed sale if they wished, but still with add-ons getting close to that £25m mark again.
"I think George has got the ability to show himself and to really be a cutting edge for Everton up front. I know they're not finished yet.
"There's still going to be some striking additions, and also the full-backs. So Everton will have a good window, but it's good to see something happening already."
Everton lead race for Ayase Ueda
Wyness told Football Insider last week that Everton are currently leading the race to sign Feyenoord frontman Ayase Ueda.
The Scottish businessman believes that his former club are ahead of Leeds United in the race for the 27-year-old.
Feyenoord are holding out for £35m to sell the Japan international this summer, with the player himself understood to be keen on a move to Everton.
Ueda struck 25 league goals in the Eredivisie last term, and saw his World Cup end when Japan were beaten by Brazil on Monday evening.
