Iliman Ndiaye has agreed 'life-changing deal' as Everton exit agreed – Keith Wyness
Iliman Ndiaye deserves credit for not trying to force a move away from Everton in recent years.
That is according to former Toffees chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who believes that the winger will be a huge success in Saudi Arabia.
This comes amid the news that the 26-year-old is edging towards a move to Pro League side Al Hilal, with personal terms reportedly already agreed.
Wyness believes that the Senegal international will be offered “life-changing” money in the Middle East, and also feels that his exit could “work for everyone” if Everton get the deal right.
The wideman has been an integral part of the Merseysiders’ progress on the pitch since his move from Marseille, and is a firm favourite among the supporters.
David Moyes relied heavily on Ndiaye’s creativity last term, and the ex-Sheffield United man repaid him with six goals and three assists in Premier League action.
Keith Wyness to be ‘disappointed’ by Iliman Ndiaye exit
Everton’s former chief Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has made it clear that he would be “disappointed” if Ndiaye does depart, such is the level of excitement that he brings.
The wideman’s fast feet and sharp dribbling have made him a hugely popular figure at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and Wyness’ sadness is sure to be shared by almost every fan if his exit materialises.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the Scottish businessman emphasised that the deal can suit all parties if Everton ensure their valuation is met.
“Yeah, look, I’m personally disappointed because Ndiaye is one of those players that's actually had me off my seat for the first time in many years. I really enjoy watching him,” he said.
“I like his attitude. I like the way he's very direct. His feet are amazing to watch. I think he's a real talent.
“I think he'd do really well in Saudi Arabia. For him personally, there's no doubt that it could well be life-changing in terms of the financial deal he would get.
“At least he has given Everton the chance to sit here and get a big fee. It can work for everyone here, and as I say, he hasn’t forced a move away or try to just run down his contract.”
How much do Everton want for Ndiaye?
Wyness told Football Insider earlier this week that Everton will “find it hard to refuse” an offer in the region of £70-£80million for Ndiaye this summer.
He still has three years remaining on his contract on Merseyside, but the Toffees are unlikely to turn down a lucrative offer of that level.
Wyness believes that a £70m bid from Al Hilal will prove enough to get the deal done, but also noted that it would see Everton net a “very decent profit” on him.
They paid just £15m to take Ndiaye from Marseille back in 2024, and could now be about to see a huge return on their initial investment.
