Sources: Everton assessing Dion Beljo move in January
Everton are assessing Dinamo Zagreb striker Dion Beljo as one of several options ahead of the January window, sources have told Football Insider.
The 24-year-old has emerged "on the radar" for the Toffees, who are set to prioritise a move for a new striker once the January window opens.
The frontman netted a stunning 38 goals in all competitions last term, and already has 15 strikes in just 15 games in 2026-27.
Nevertheless, sources say that Dinamo Zagreb are in a "strong position" to strike a deal on their own terms, with Beljo under contract until 2030.
Dinamo are in the Europa League this season, and that is providing clubs from across Europe with the perfect chance to keep tabs on him.
Everton are among those who are tracking Beljo at the moment, and they could be prepared to make a move for him this winter.
Dion Beljo's eye-catching scoring record
Beljo's electric form in the last 18 months has established him as the Croatian league's leading striker, and he could be set to get the chance to impress in one of Europe's top five leagues in the coming months.
The former Augsburg man returned to his homeland in 2025 after a brief, 19-goal season with Rapid Vienna in 2024-25, and the goals have floweed for him since then.
Beljo's tally of 31 league strikes last term saw him finish 15 goals clear of the division's next highest scorer, and he has already built a five-goal cushion for himself this season.
The Croatia international has missed just three big chances across his eight league games in 2026-27, and has continued to shine with his finishing.
Everton's need for a new striker has made them sit up and take notice of Beljo's exploits, and they could even be prepared to hand him a chance in the Premier League.
David Moyes' side are working to bring in more support for Thierno Barry, and a move for Beljo could prove to be a gamble worth taking.
Everton insider shares training ground reveal
Former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness recently told Football Insider that he believes Barry can become a leading Premier League striker with the right work on the training ground in the coming years.
The Frenchman has missd more big chances so far this season than any other player in the Premier League, but is also just two goals shy of his tally of eight from the entirety of last season.
Wyness believes that Barry is getting in the right areas continually during games, and feels that his finishing will only improve as he adapts to English football.
The youngster has faced criticism at times of late, but Wyness is adamant that he is on the right track at the moment.
