Sources: Everton 'capable' of paying Baris Alper Yilmaz fee amid transfer latest
Everton have Galatasaray star Baris Alper Yilmaz on their shortlist of winger targets for the remainder of the summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The Toffees are big admirers of the 26-year-old, and currently view him as one of several possible options to bolster their wide options.
Reports in Turkey have suggested that the Merseysiders have made significant progress towards a deal, but it is understood that their interest is not quite as advanced.
Galatasaray are hoping to keep hold of their star, and have placed a £35million valuation on his head as a result.
However, Everton are "capable" of meeting that amount, despite what has been a challenging summer for them so far.
Yilmaz dazzled for Galatasaray with 12 goals and 14 assists last season, and also has interest from several other European clubs at the moment.
David Moyes pushing to add to wide options
Jack Grealish's return to Manchester City at the end of his loan spell has left Everton short of winger options, and David Moyes is keen to address that in the coming weeks.
The boss only has Iliman Ndiaye, Tyrique George, Tyler Dibling and Dwight McNeil to call on, and several of those players received hugely limited game time last term.
Throw in the fact that Ndiaye is being strongly pursued by Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal, and the winger situation could potentially get worse before it gets better.
Everton are hoping to add further quality across their frontline, and Yilmaz is one of many options that they are considering at the moment.
He has several years of strong output behind him in the Turkish Super Lig, and also has ample experience of playing in both the Champions League and Europa League.
That is the level of football that Everton are aspiring to reach in the coming years, but further attacking additions are undoubtedly needed if they are to achieve it in 2026-27.
Everton ready to let Beto leave for free
Former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness told Football Insider on Monday that his former club are prepared to let Beto leave for free next summer, rather than selling him to Nottingham Forest.
The Guinea-Bissau international has emerged as a target for the Reds, but Wyness believes that the Toffees won't sell unless they can get a top-quality replacement through the door.
With that in mind, he believes that they are prepared to let the frontman walk away for nothing at the end of his contract in June 2027, rather than leave themselves short for this season.
Beto netted nine goals in the Premier League last term, and ended the campaign as the top scorer for Moyes' men.
