Everton are "exploring" the possibility of signing Juventus striker Lois Openda on a loan-to-buy deal, sources have told Football Insider.

The Italian giants are desperate to offload the Belgian, and it is understood that the Toffees have the money to make a deal happen this summer.

Juventus were forced into signing Openda for £40million as part of their agreement with RB Leipzig, but they are expecting to have to take a loss on him now.

Everton have the financial capability to make a deal happen, but would prefer for it to be a loan deal with the option to buy later down the line.

The 26-year-old has been linked with both Leeds United and Coventry City in recent weeks, but David Moyes and Co. are the latest to come to the fore.

Openda scored once in 24 games in Serie A in 2025-26, but previously plundered 41 league goals across two campaigns at RB Leipzig.

Everton ready to act on Lois Openda 'offer'

Football Insider revealed last weekend that Juventus have "offered" Everton the chance to sign Openda this summer, as Premier League links have intensified.

The Old Lady are keen to get the frontman off their books by any means possible, as he has already fallen away from their long-term plans.

The addition of a new striker is a top priority for Moyes this summer, as he is desperate to find a more regular goalscorer at the top of the pitch.

Everton are now weighing up the possibility of making a move for Openda in the coming weeks as they look to add to their squad.

The former Lens man struggled to make an impact during his time in Italy, but the Merseysiders are hopeful that he may be able to rediscover his previous form across his spells in Germany and France.

Openda once managed three consecutive campaigns above the 20-goal mark for Vitesse Arnhem, Lens and Leipzig respectively, and could be about to get his first taste of the Premier League.

Lois Openda 'open' to Leeds United move as star 'explores' transfer

Openda is 'open' to Premier League move

Football Insider revealed back in May that Openda is "open" to a move to the Premier League this summer, amid the links with Leeds.

The player's camp are looking to find a destination that would allow him to play regular first-team football, after he made just six league starts for Juventus

The star would also be keen to test himself at the top level of English football if the chance arose.

Openda has emerged as a target for Everton of late, and it remains to be seen whether they will firm up that interest.
