'Yes' - Everton fans say the same thing about Jamie Vardy deal being completed
Everton are reportedly considering a move for Jamie Vardy on a free transfer with fans supporting a shock move for the former England international.
The Toffees currently only have one senior striker on their books after they sold Beto on deadline day and failed in their attempts to bring in Folarin Balogun.
With the transfer window now closed, David Moyes will have to look to the free agent market if he is to reinforce his front line before January.
Now, Vardy is reportedly one player being considered after he was released by Cremonese at the end of the 2025-26 campaign.
The 39-year-old has since been linked with a host of clubs and had reportedly turned down advances from Wrexham.
However, he could now be set for a surprise return to the Premier League, with Everton supporters clearly fans of the recent links.
Everton fans would welcome Jamie Vardy signing
It is obvious that Everton would struggle to survive with just Barry up top until the winter window.
If the striker were to get injured or fall out of form, it would certainly cost the club points and cause them to drop down the table. Therefore, exploring the free agent market would be a wise move.
However, when The Sun reported that Everton were considering a move for Vardy, reactions could easily have been negative.
The striker is well past his best and has not managed to have a pre-season.
Nevertheless, when the news broke, Everton fans were keen, and have taken to X to insist that it would be a great signing given their current situation.
Could Vardy perform for Everton?
Despite Vardy’s age, the striker can still score goals at a top level.
Last season, the attacker netted seven times in the Serie A for Cremonese, and even won the Player of the Month in the division for November.
While it is unlikely that the Leicester City legend would score this many goals for Everton if he were to sign, he would no doubt get a couple.
This would be all Moyes would need until January, especially if Vardy was able to net a winner or two.
However, it remains to be seen if Everton make an official move for the striker over the coming weeks.
