Every Leeds fan is talking about one player after first-half display v Barnsley

Tom Pearce scored a brilliant goal in the first-half to give Leeds the lead in the derby game against Barnsley on Saturday afternoon – and fans fans took to Twitter to rave about their new young hero.

The 20-year-old left-back picked up the ball past the halfway line and drove forward before unleashing a shot in the bottom right corner.

It’s his first goal for Leeds after only making his debut for Leeds in March, and comes in his third appearance for the senior side.

Pearce had already impressed the Leeds fans but they’ve been knocked for six after his stunning goal and they see huge things for his future.

It helped an atmosphere that was fairly hostile towards manager Paul Heckingbottom, who was facing his former side for the first time since joining Leeds.

However, they couldn’t hold onto their lead until half-time, after an own goal from Paudie O’Connor saw Barnsley level before half-time.
