Ex-manager applauds more 'great business' at Leeds after Dallas update
Alex McLeish has claimed tying Stuart Dallas down to a new contract is a “great piece of business” for Leeds United.
The former Scotland boss, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, raved over the Northern Ireland international’s performances during the 2020/21 campaign.
Leeds confirmed on July 2nd the 30-year-old had put pen to paper on a new three-year deal at Elland Road.
Dallas joined Leeds back in 2015 and has played 230 times for the Yorkshire giants to date.
McLeish heralded the 56-cap star as a “top player for the Premier League” after just one season in the top-flight.
McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Amazing. Stuart Dallas had a tremendous season, especially the second half of the season.

“His goals against Manchester City and things like that, it just captures the imagination of every club.
“But also his own club to say: ‘We’ve got to get that kid tied down.’
“Dallas has proved above and beyond he is a top player for the Premier League.
“I guess Leeds have done their homework on him. The fact that they can secure them is another great piece of business. I wish I was playing at Leeds.”
Dallas played in all 38 of Leeds’ Premier League matches last term.
He proved his versatility under Marcelo Bielsa, turning out as a left-back, central midfielder and winger throughout the campaign.
He scored eight goals, including a brace against Manchester City and contributed two assists.
