Ex-manager impressed as West Ham make move to beat rivals to Lacazette signing after report
Alex McLeish has suggested Alexandre Lacazette is playing for a move away from Arsenal amid reported interest from Everton and West Ham.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Scotland manager was dazzled by the 30-year-old’s “lively” display against Crystal Palace on Monday.
As reported by French news outlet Jeunes Footeux (18th October), Everton and West Ham have made contact over a potential move for Lacazette ahead January.
The French striker is out of contract next summer, meaning he could leave on a free transfer if not sold in the winter window.
Lacazette has played a backup role for the Gunners this season, with just one start in five appearances so far.
However, he grabbed headlines against Palace with a last-minute goal to seal a 2-2 draw.

McLeish admitted Lacazette was “like a man possessed” against the Eagles.
He suggested the hitman may be looking to tempt suitors with his energetic displays.
Discussing a potential move to Everton or West Ham, McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “He’s a very lively guy. You saw the difference he made to Arsenal in the Crystal Palace game.
“He kind of transformed the speed. Again, that word tempo, he really added to the tempo of the game.
“He came on, he was smart, running at defenders. In fact, it was as hungry a game I’ve seen him play in.
“He came on like a man possessed, as if he’s got something to prove. Maybe he’s living on the possibility he could be getting a good move.”
Lacazette has scored 51 times in 131 Premier League appearances for Arsenal to date.
