Ex-manager: Kane will definitely quit Tottenham and Man United well placed to seal £150m deal
Alex McLeish has tipped Manchester United to “push the boat out” and sign Harry Kane from Tottenham this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Scotland boss suggested Daniel Levy’s mega-money demands would not put interested parties off.
As reported by the Sun (June 8th), Levy has decided to rule out a possible swap deal for Kane and will demand £150million from suitors.
In an update delivered on Saturday (June 12th), the Spurs chief insisted “We will do whatever is right for the club” when it comes to the transfer market.
McLeish suggested a goalscorer like Kane could be the “missing link” for a rival club.
As such, he suggested a deal would be struck this summer.

Asked if there was any chance of Kane staying, McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “I think not. I really don’t.
“A guy with Harry Kane’s personality and strength of mind, mentality, he’ll go. My thoughts are Harry Kane will leave Tottenham.
“Kane’s 27, isn’t he? He’s not even at his peak, that’ll come at 29, 30 probably. He’s still got a lot of football in him.
“Who’s got £150million? I would think Man United might just push out the boat. He could be the missing link to the Champions League, for instance, or winning the title again at Manchester United.
“If they were talking about Haaland or Harry, Haaland’s young but I’d go for the guy who knows his way about English penalty boxes.”
Kane scored 33 goals and contributed 17 assists in 49 appearances during the 2020/21 campaign.
He still has three years left on his contract at Spurs.
