Liverpool target Mahmoud Dahoud has decided to join Borussia Dortmund, according to a report.
German news outlet WAZ reported that the Borussia Monchengladbach 21-year-old has opted to stay in the Bundesliga and join Thomas Tuchel’s side.
The Dortmund boss made an agreement with Dahoud last summer and that offer appears to still be on the table.
BVB will have to pay over £8.6million pounds to trigger his release clause and more money is expected to be paid with other costs.
The Express had originally reported that Jurgen Klopp wanted to bring the exciting attacking midfielder to Anfield in January which led to Guardian Sport deputy news editor Ed Aarons claiming that Dahoud had received offers from a number of big European clubs.

The German Under-21 international is now set to make a move to Klopp’s former side to join a club rich with experience of developing some of the country’s finest young talent.
Dahoud was not in the Monchengladbach squad in their last game before the international break against Bayern Munich but has made 32 appearances in all competitions this season scoring twice and providing five assists.
The midfielder has been with Monchengladbach for his entire career and has played a total of 76 times for the first team, but has also been a prominent feature in their Under-17, Under-19 and second team as he rose up through the ranks.
Football Insider Verdict
This will be a blow for Liverpool as it’s a player that Klopp admired and it looks like he’s going to move for a bargain price. Still, Liverpool are strong in midfield, with the likes of Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana, so missing out on Dahoud isn’t a tragedy. It looks like there was an agreement with Dortmund in the summer and Dahoud is sticking to it despite interest from overseas. Klopp must now look elsewhere as he plans to rebuild his Liverpool squad for a crack at the Premier League title. It would have been an exciting time to move to Anfield, but Dahoud will now look to conquer the Bundesliga.
