Frank McAvennie has tipped Celtic boss Neil Lennon to axe Albian Ajeti for the trip to Hibernian on Saturday now Odsonne Edouard is back in the goals.
The former Hoops and St Mirren forward, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, expects the 23-year-old to be replaced by Edouard having failed to take his chance prior to the international break.
A brace in midweek for France Under-21s suggests Edouard is close to his best form and with four goals and four assists against Hibs during his time at Celtic it would be hard to for Neil Lennon to snub him from the start.
McAvennie is adamant that the former PSG striker will start at Easter Road.
“It was great to see Edouard scoring two goals,” he told Football Insider.
“”I am sure Edouard will come in. He will walk straight back into that eleven and that is no disrespect to Ajeti.
“It is similar to Sebastien Haller at West Ham, he has had his chance and when you do not take it you cannot complain.
“This is going to be another hard game and you need the likes of Edouard and Tom Rogic to hold up the ball. Ajeti is a goalscorer but he cannot hold the ball as well as the other two.”
In other Celtic news, Alan Hutton claims Neil Lennon will be kicking himself for not re-signing number one target.
