Agbonlahor hammers 'Dreadful' Tottenham player, tips long-term replacement
Gabriel Agbonlahor fully expects Tottenham defender Serge Aurier to be bombed out and replaced at the end of the season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Aston Villa and England striker claimed the 27-year-old was “dreadful” against Liverpool last week and deserved to be substituted at half-time.
The Daily Mail report Aurier left the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after being replaced in the interval of their 3-1 defeat to the Premier League champions.
He was then left out of the matchday squad as Spurs fell to another defeat at the weekend this time a 1-0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Jose Mourinho revealed after the game it was a “technical” decision to leave Aurier out of the squad and he was happy with Moussa Sissoko’s performance at full-back.
Asked by Football Insider whether he was surprised Aurier has fallen out of favour, Agbonlahor said: “That’s been happening for ages.

“In the Spurs documentary he says to him ‘I don’t like you on set pieces, you’re going to make a mistake’.
“Every time Aurier plays he seems to switch off. Whatever was said at half-time was deserved because I thought he was dreadful in his defending against Liverpool.
“If he’s not taken that well I don’t blame Jose Mourinho for leaving him out.
“I’m sure Jose Mourinho will be looking for a long-term replacement for Aurier.”
He has shared right-back duties with summer signing Matt Doherty this season and has played 16 games across all competitions.
