An agent who parties with the Sullivan sons could be key to West Ham sealing the summer signing of Brentford star Said Benrahma, Football Insider understands.

This site revealed yesterday that Hammers chiefs are deciding between Benrahma, 24, and QPR ace Eberechi Eze, 22, as they pursue a playmaker in the window opening today.

A West Ham source has told Football Insider that chairman David Sullivan marginally favours Benrahma due to the representation of his agent Will Salthouse.

Sullivan and Salthouse have done plenty of business together in recent years and many of the agent's clients are already at the London Stadium.

Significantly, he has helped to broker many deals while partying with the Sullivan sons in London and Ibiza.

The likes of Michail Antonio, Aaron Creswell, Ryan Fredericks and Darren Randolph are already on Salthouse's agency's (Unique Sports Management) books.

David Moyes wants a young, creative player that can provide both goals and assists for the Irons next season.

Benrahma has scored 17 goals and provided a further nine assists for Brentford this season.

Eze enjoyed similar success in a mid-table QPR side, his 46 Championship appearances yielded 14 goals and eight assists.
Football Insider understands Brazilian attacker, Felipe Anderson, will be sacrificed this summer with the club looking to recoup the £36million paid for his services in 2018.
