Aston Villa have agreed the terms of a new deal with starlet Jacob Ramsey ahead of him completing a loan move today to Doncaster Rovers, Football Insider understands.

A Villa source has told Football Insider that, in a further big development, the club have rewarded Ramsey's progress with a new long-term deal to show how much they value him.

It comes even though the highly-rated youngster only signed his first professional contract at Villa Park last month.

Ramsey is highly regarded at Villa having through the ranks at the club and he has represented England at Under-18 and Under-19 level.

The goalscoring midfielder can play in centre midfield or in attacking areas and is regarded by the Midlands giants as a youngster capable of establishing himself in their first team in the future.

The teenager made his senior debut last season for Villa and he has appeared twice in the first team this season.

Both appearances were in the domestic cup competitions, one each as a substitute in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

Ramsey won Villa's Academy Player of the Season last term and he has been a stand-out performer for the club's Under-23s in Premier League 2 this season with six goals and four assists in 12 games.
