Aston Villa attacking midfielder Callum O’Hare is poised to join Carlisle United this weekend, Football Insider understands.
A number of League One and League Two clubs have all made enquiries about taking the highly-rated O’Hare on loan for the second half of the season, but Carlisle are set to win the race for his signature.
O’Hare is set for talks with the north-west outfit this weekend and is expected to watch their game against Port Vale before finalising his move to the League Two club.
Villa boss Dean Smith is happy to let O’Hare move on loan to get regular game time as the attacker is unlikely to have too many first-team opportunities for the remainder of the season at Villa Park.
O’Hare, who has come through the ranks at Villa, has made just one first-team appearance this term, in the FA Cup defeat to Swansea City earlier this month.
The 20-year-old made his first-team debut against Colchester United last season in the Carabao Cup and gone on to make nine appearances in total since.
In other Aston Villa transfer news, the club have made a move to sign a Sheffield Wednesday ace as talks over a deal have begun.
