Aston Villa have rejected a £7million offer from Sevilla for Lamare Bogarde, sources have told Football Insider.

The Midlands giants have been in talks with Sevilla for their centre-back, Loic Bade, and the La Liga outfit made the offer for Bogarde during discussions.

Villa snubbed the overtures for the 21-year-old, with Unai Emery ruling out selling the Dutchman this window as he sees him as a key part of his plans for the future.

Emery's side are keen to land centre-back reinforcements before the 3 February deadline after selling Diego Carlos to Fenerbahce.

But Bogarde will not be part of discussions as he is seen as part of the plans at Villa Park as he continues his development.

The Rotterdam-born ace has made eight senior appearances across all competitions this term, starting in five of those outings.

Aston Villa turn down Bogarde approach from Sevilla

He joined Villa from Feyenoord in September 2020 and has had two separate loan spells with League One Bristol Rovers.

Bogarde can play at centre-back as well as in defensive and central midfield - and has featured in each position regularly throughout his development.

He penned a new contract extension at Villa Park in August 2024.

Emery's side sit eighth in the Premier League table after drawing 2-2 away at Arsenal last time out in the top flight.

The Midlands giants are in action against West Ham (26 January) and Celtic (29 January) in the next week.
