Darren Bent was blown away by Wolves attacker Raul Jimenez’s 2019 stats and claimed they were “insane.”
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the former England international heaped praise on Jimenez for being a quality striker who also puts a shift in for the team.
Jimenez scored in every Wolves game in November and has been involved in 46 goals for club and country so far in 2019.
The 28-year-old has scored 33 of those 46 goals, and Bent pointed out that the forward had become key to the way Nuno Espirito Santo’s side play due to his performances.
When asked about Jimenez’s crazy stats this season, Bent told Football Insider: “Yeah it’s insane and again he has been one of them who has been brilliant.
“What I like about him is that he has good quality on the ball, he can play but not only that he can put a shift in as well and when you’ve got a striker like that, who is going to work hard, then listen it’s a blessing.
“So for me, he is so key to the way they play.”
Jimenez started Wolves’ 1-1 draw with Sheffield United on Sunday, and played the full 90 minutes of the match.
The Mexican attacker spent his 2018/19 season on loan at the Molineux from Portuguese giants Benfica, before joining the Premier League club on a permanent basis in the summer.
Jimenez signed a four-and-a-half contract upon joining, so his current deal has plenty of time left to run on it with it not expiring until 2023.
