Exclusive: Cardiff City make approach to sign Crystal Palace forward wanted by Forest
Cardiff City have made enquiries for about signing Crystal Palace striker Connor Wickham on loan, Football Insider understands.
The 26-year-old is in high demand this month with the likes of Championship sides Sheffield Wednesday, Bristol City and Nottingham Forest chasing his capture after falling out of favour at Selhurst Park.
A source at Cardiff has told Football Insider that the Welsh outfit have made an approach to the Premier League side over taking him on a temporary deal before the transfer window slams shut this week.
Bluebirds boss Neil Harris, who is hoping to make a late push for the play-offs, is looking to strengthen his attacking options this month but has been frustrated in his attempts to sign Wigan and Wales international Kieffer Moore.
As a result, he has turned his attention to Wickham, the Palace man fitting the bill as an imposing target man to lead the line at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Palace boss Roy Hodgson has refused to rule out letting the former England under-21 striker go out on loan this month as long as he has enough cover in attack at Selhurst Park.
