Celtic have submitted a £3million bid for Sheffield United defender George Baldock, Football Insider understands.
The Scottish champions are in the market for a new right-back this summer with Mikael Lustig and Cristian Gamboa both set to leave the club and Jeremy Toljan heading back to Borussia Dortmund after his loan.
A Celtic source has told Football Insider that Baldock, 26, figures highly on their wanted list for what is a priority position this summer.
The source explained that Sheffield United have yet to respond to Celtic’s bid and the player is waiting to see what stance the Blades take to the multi-million pound offer.
Baldock impressed for Sheffield United last season, making 27 appearances fas they won promotion from the Championship to the Premier League.
He is entering the final year of his contract at Bramall Lane and that has given Celtic encouragement that he could be lured away from the South Yorkshire club for a suitable fee.
In other Celtic news, it can be REVEALED that a huge Brendan Rodgers favourite has told friends he may quit the club in the coming weeks.
