Chelsea will not entertain offers for centre-back Benoit Badiashile in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

The 23-year-old has been linked with potential moves to Marseille and Juventus in the new year.

However, it is believed Chelsea are desperate to keep their squad together past the 31 January deadline as they continue to outperform expectations in the 2024-25 campaign.

Badiashile has featured sparingly in the Premier League this term but is still considered a key member of the squad amid injuries to Wesley Fofana and Reece James.

The France international has made just two top-flight starts, including in the 4-3 win over Tottenham on Sunday (8 December).

He has provided important cover for Enzo Maresca's first-choice defenders in cup competitions, however, playing every minute in the League Cup and Uefa Conference League.

Badiashile joined the club from AS Monaco almost two years ago and signed a contract running until June 2030.

Chelsea will block Badiashile exit as Marseille and Juventus swoop

He has made 45 appearances for the club across all competitions, including 22 in the 2023-24 campaign.

The Irons have been linked with a potential loan swoop for the centre-back, 27, in the new year.

Chelsea sit second in the Premier League and are top of the league phase in the Uefa Conference League with two more games to play.

The Blues are next in action against Astana on Thursday (12 December).
