Danny Mills claims that Leeds United face a problem in trying to keep Ben White past the end of his loan spell after his impressive performances at Elland Road.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Leeds and England defender says he has been mightily impressed with what he has seen from the Brighton loanee so far, heralding his composure on the ball in the heart of defence.

White joined the Whites on a season-long loan from the Seagulls, the 21-year-old taking the place of Pontus Jansson in the starting XI under Marcelo Bielsa.

With White Having established a formidable partnership alongside club captain Liam Cooper, Mills says that Leeds’ biggest issue will be keeping him at the club past next summer.

Mills told Football Insider: “He’s getting better and better, he’s a superb player.

“He’s composed on the ball, good defender. He had experience last season of playing regular football which was vital and I think if he keeps improving Leeds’ biggest problem will be keeping him permanently.”

White has played in all seven games of Leeds’ 2019/20 campaign, including featuring in both League Cup games and playing every minute of their Championship fixtures.

The second tier is the highest level White has played at, having never made an appearance for his parent club in the Premier League.

In other Leeds United news, Mills has told Football Insider that was blown away by one thing he witnessed in the club’s League Cup clash with Stoke City.
