Danny Mills has tipped Celtic to come out on top of Rangers in the race for the Scottish Premiership this season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former England international revealed he expected a clear two-horse race between the two Glasgow giants and that he is predicting the Hoops will secure their ninth league title in a row.
Neil Lennon’s men secured a third successive treble last season, finishing nine points ahead of Steven Gerrard’s side in the hunt for the league title.
With the gap having closed from 12 points between Rangers and Celtic in the 2017/18 campaign, Mills says he is expecting the Old Firm pair to blow the rest of the division away and make it a nail-biting fight.
He told Football Insider: “I think Celtic win it again. I think it will be very close but I think Celtic win it.
“It’s a bigger two-horse race than what the Premier League is. I can’t see anyone coming close to Celtic or Rangers this time around.”
Celtic started the new campaign in sensational fashion, demolishing St Johnstone 7-0 at Parkhead, Ryan Christie netting a hat-trick for the Hoops.
Rangers meanwhile left it late against Kilmarnock, Connor Goldson’s injury-time goal securing a 2-1 away victory for Gerrard’s men.
