Spurs Exclusive: Danny Mills reacts after positive Covid-19 test at Hotspur Way
Danny Mills stressed the importance everyone remains aware of Covid-19 after a Norwich City player who featured in a friendly at the Tottenham training ground tested positive for the virus.
The former Leeds United and Manchester City full-back, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, praise the Premier League’s response to the pandemic over the last month but insisted Covid-19 was still a major issue.
The Premier League confirmed in a statement on Saturday that two individuals from the 1,200 staff and players tested on Thursday 11 June and Friday 12 June returned positive results.

Sky Sports revealed that one of those positive results was from a Norwich City player who featured in Friday’s 2-1 friendly win against Tottenham at Hotspur Way.
No Spurs player will need to self-isolate as, according to Government advice, they were not in contact for long enough with the individual of subject.
When asked by Football Insider if this case was evidence that risk remains to players and staff in spite of the frequent testing and safety protocols, Mills said: “It is vitally important that we are all aware that coronavirus has not disappeared. Covid-19 is still out there.
“It is still an issue and we all have to follow protocol.
“There have been very few positive tests since the players and staff came back to training and you would have to say everybody is now pretty comfortable and those that have tested positive have been asymptomatic. This is not a huge problem.
“Football has worked really hard to get this right and anyone that tests positive will be isolated and looked after and there will be retesting.”
A statement from Spurs read: “The Norwich player in question has confirmed he had no ‘close contacts’ with our team yesterday and our squad has also verified this.
“Our testing has continued to return only negative results for COVID since.”
