Danny Mills suggested Carlo Ancelotti may have doubts about Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the ex-England defender admitted that he could believe the Toffees manager may prefer a different first-choice keeper.
However, Mills suggested Ancelotti may not be overly convinced by Pickford as his temperament does seem to be a problem due to him having rash moments.
When asked if he believes Ancelotti could look to replace Pickford, Mills told Football Insider: “He has rash moments.
“I think that is the problem.
“I guess being a goalkeeper is all about temperament, can you stay calm under pressure? Can you settle everyone down?
“It’s not really his forte is it? He is a very good goalkeeper but he does have these moments of rashness, he gets a bit too emotional at times, and that’s not what every manager wants.
“Their back-up keeper is okay so…we’ve seen it where Bravo came in at Man City, you thought oh wow what a signing, but it turned out not to be good enough for Guardiola.
“That’s why managers have different opinions and that’s why we love the game as it is.
“As every manager has a different take.”
The 25-year-old keeper has played 27 times across all competitions this season, conceding 37 goals and keeping eight clean sheets in the process.
Pickford arrived at Goodison Park in 2017 after joining the Toffees from Sunderland and he is contracted to stay with the Merseyside giants until 2024.
