Exclusive: Danny Mills wowed by faultless Tottenham player after 'Bold' Mourinho decision
Danny Mills believes Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga was faultless in the 1-0 loss to Liverpool.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the ex-England international heaped praise on Tanganga for his latest performance and claimed the 20-year-old did incredibly well against the Reds.
Tanganga made his Premier League debut against Liverpool on Saturday and completed the full 90 minutes.
Mills then explained that he thought it was a bold and brave decision by Jose Mourinho to play the youngster against Jurgen Klopp’s side, but suggested it nearly paid off.
“We’ve seen Mourinho make strange decisions, well not strange, brave and bold decisions and that’s exactly what he did,” Mills told Football Insider.
“He was back to himself, he had a sparkle in his eye even after they lost, everyone’s talking about Mourinho.

“And it was a good performance by Spurs in the second half, as we always knew they were going to have to contain, they were playing against the Champions-elect.
“I mean he has clearly seen the young lad in training, he clearly wanted pace and he got that.
“And you have to say Tanganga played incredibly well, you can’t fault him in anyway shape or form.
“And with a bit better finish from Tottenham, they could have easily got a point.”
The 20-year-old centre-back, who can also be deployed as a right-back, has only appeared a total of two times for the senior side.
Tanganga has been at Spurs for the entirety of his professional career and has regularly featured for the club’s U-23s previously.
