Swansea City are on the brink of tying up a deal with Liverpool to take Rhian Brewster on loan until the end of the season, Football Insider understands.
The 19-year-old has been in high-demand from Premier League and Championship sides after Jurgen Klopp gave the green light for him to depart for the second half of the campaign.
A source at Swansea City has told Football Insider that the Welsh outfit have been successful in their negotiations with the Premier League giants and that a deal is all but done.
The striker has been looking for a club where he will be given regular game time after sitting on the fringes of the Reds’ first-team during 2019.
The source explained that Brewster’s existing relationship with Swans manager Steve Cooper played a big part in talks between the clubs, the duo having worked together with England’s under-17 side.
The 40-year-old was in charge of the Young Lions for their World Cup-winning campaign back in 2017, Brewster finishing the competition as top scorer with eight goals.
The promising attacker made his first-team debut away at MK Dons in the League Cup back in September, while he also played the full 90 minutes against Arsenal in the fourth round of the same competition.
Swansea have seen their players share the goals this season, with Andre Ayew leading the charts with 11 to date.
Bournemouth loanee Sam Surridge has struck seven times while Borja Baston is not far behind with six.
In other Liverpool news, Darren Bent was left in awe of one player who looked “back to his best” against Leicester City.
