Exclusive: Derby County plot move to sign Sheffield Wednesday 26-yr-old wanted by Boro
Derby County are plotting a move to sign Sheffield Wednesday defender Morgan Fox this summer, Football Insider can reveal.
The left-back, 26, is coming to the end of his contract at Hillsborough and is yet to agree a new deal.
A Derby source has told Football Insider that they are in the market for a new left-back and have set their sights on Fox.
As revealed by this site in April, Middlesbrough are also showing an interest in the Welshman and have made him one of their top targets in the transfer window.
Wednesday boss Garry Monk explained last week that the club are in talks with Fox over a new deal and he is very keen to keep him.
Derby scouts have delivered glowing reports about the performances of Fox, who has been a mainstay of Monk’s side this season.

Along with fellow contract rebel Steven Fletcher, he was arguably the outstanding player at Hillsborough before the term ground to a halt in March.
Fox has made 24 Championship starts among 31 appearances in all competitions this season and even weighed in with three goals from his defensive position.
Capped by Wales six times at Under-21 level, the full-back is in his third season at Wednesday, where he has accumulated 102 appearances since signing from Charlton Athletic in the summer of 2017.
Fox also played 116 times for the south London outfit and also had a spell on loan at Notts County.
