Rangers forward Joe Dodoo is set to undergo a medical at Blackpool on Monday ahead of a season-long loan move to the League One club, Football Insider sources understand.
Dodoo is well down the pecking order at Rangers and new Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard is happy to send him out on loan so that he can get regular first-team football under his belt.
The 22-year-old spent the first half of last season on loan at Charlton Athletic where he netted two goals in eight appearances for the Addicks before returning to Rangers in January.
Dodoo made just two brief appearances in the Scottish FA Cup for Rangers last season and his first-team opportunities looked like they were going to be limited next season under Gerrard.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that a number of clubs have expressed an interest in taking Dodoo on loan for next season, but Blackpool have moved quickly to agree a deal with Rangers for the former England Under-18 international.
Dodoo, who still has two years to run on his deal at Rangers, joined the Scottish giants from Leicester City in the summer of 2006 and has scored five goals in 27 games for the club.
In other Rangers news, it can be revealed that the club have lined up three central defender signings.
