Steven Gerrard will let young winger Josh McPake decide if he wants to go out on loan or stay and fight for his place at Ibrox, Football Insider understands.
Rangers have received enquiries from a number of clubs about taking McPake on loan before the transfer window closes on September 2nd.
The likes of Doncaster Rovers, Bristol Rovers, St Johnstone and Ross County have all asked about signing McPake on loan.
Rangers are weighing up the offers and a club source has told Football Insider that they will leave the final decision down to the player as he is likely to be involved in Steven Gerrard’s first-team plans this season.
The 17-year-old made his first-team debut earlier this season in the Europa League qualifying and he is highly-regarded by the coaching staff at Ibrox.
However, Rangers will allow McPake to decide whether or not he wants to go out on loan in search of regular first-team football to aid his development. Otherwise, he will remain at Ibrox and be available for Gerrard’s plans this season.
