Exclusive: Alan Hutton raves over 'Difficult' Leeds player who started today
Alan Hutton has been left raving over Leeds United mainstay Stuart Dallas after seeing him move into a full-back role under Marcelo Bielsa.
The former Aston Villa and Scotland defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, insists the 28-year-old has most of the attributes to be a success in defence, having started life as a winger.
The Northern Irish international has established himself as a mainstay in the starting XI, with Saturday’s clash against Hull City his 36th start in the Championship this season.
Having come up against Dallas twice in his career, Hutton revealed just how tough an opponent the former Brentford man is after his bright performances this season.
Hutton told Football Insider: “He’s definitely a difficult one to play against, he’s one of those guys that’s always in your face.
“Every time you turn, he’s there closing you down. He’s got great energy, he used to be a winger so he’s got that, throughout the years, the ability to know where he has to be to cross the ball so the attacking thing’s not a problem.

“I think he’s taken the defending side on really, really well, great energy, always in your face, he’s got speed so he ticks a lot of boxes for the modern-day full-back.”
Dallas has failed to play the full 90 minutes just twice in the league this season, Bielsa playing him as a right-back, a left-back, a winger and a central midfielder.
He lined up on the left-hand side of the defence against Hull, with Barry Douglas and Ezgjan Alioski on the substitutes’ bench.
