Alan Hutton gushed over the idea that Tottenham could end up making a move to sign Hull City attacker Jarrod Bowen.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the former Spurs full-back revealed he thought the Hull winger was an excellent player who’d fit right in at the Premier League club.
It was recently reported that Spurs were preparing to bid for Bowen with the club’s scouts having persuaded Jose Mourinho that he is worth signing.
Hutton explained that Bowen had proven that he isn’t just a flash in a pan and added that he’d be a good addition for Spurs due to being young, hungry and capable of scoring goals.
When asked if Bowen would be a good signing for Tottenham, Hutton told Football Insider: “I think he is an excellent player, played against him a number of times.
“I think Tottenham were interested in him before, to be honest, and he was brilliant last season as well.
“So this isn’t just a flash in pan, played against him for multiple seasons and he was a very tough opponent.
“It doesn’t surprise me that they’re interested, I think he’ll be a good addition to the Tottenham team as he’s young, hungry, scoring goals and I think he fits into the mould of a Tottenham player.
“As he can play in a front three so I think it will be a really good signing for them.”
The 22-year-old winger has scored 17 goals in the 23 outings he has made across all competitions this season and has also registered three assists.
Bowen has been with Hull since joining from Hereford United in July 2014 and is contracted to stay with The Tigers until 2020.
In other Tottenham news, it can be REVEALED that Jose Mourinho has shut the door on Spurs player exit as talks advance on new three-year deal.
