Alan Hutton claimed Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish was likely working hard on the training ground to improve his shooting.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the ex-Villans right-back was asked whether Grealish should be aiming to improve his goal tally after scoring his first Premier League goal of the season against Norwich City.
The 24-year-old converted from close-range during the Villans’ 5-1 win over the Canaries on Saturday, with the win causing Dean Smith’s side to move out of the bottom three.
Hutton revealed that Grealish will definitely want to add goals to his game and pointed out that the playmaker was constantly on the training ground last season working on his shooting.
When asked if Grealish needs to add more goals to his game, Hutton told Football Insider: “I think it is a thing that Jack has constantly worked on even last year.
“He was out on the training field working on his shooting and stuff and I’m sure he’s doing it this year also.
“Everybody in the attacking third wants to score goals and he is no different.
“He has popped up with some good goals in big moments, so it’s definitely something he wished he had more of, so he’ll be working hard to do that.”
Grealish has played every minute of Aston Villa’s Premier League campaign so far and aside from contributing a goal against Norwich, he has previously racked up two assists in his outings.
The 24-year-old has had more luck in front of goal during the Villans’ two EFL Cup clashes as he scored against Crewe Alexander and Brighton to helps his side remain in the tournament.
