Kevin De Bruyne is expected to sign a new contract at Man City despite Saudi Pro League interest, sources have told Football Insider.

De Bruyne, 33, is currently out of contract at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

He is fit and firing in the new season and it is believed City chiefs have no concerns about his long-term fitness.

Talks are expected to kick off in the coming weeks following the end of the transfer window, with a solution set to come before the new year.

De Bruyne expected to sign new Man City contract before the new year

He has recently revealed (2 September) that he has "not been entertained by anybody or spoken to anybody" despite his precarious contract situation at the Etihad Stadium.

The midfielder has worn the captain's armband in every Premier League game so far in the new campaign.

He has notched one goal and one assist with City making a flawless start in the top flight.

Six-time Premier League winner De Bruyne notched six goals and 18 assists last term despite missing half the season through injury.

The ex-Wolfsburg and Chelsea star signed his last contract extension in April 2021.
