Exclusive: Kevin Phillips claims it's time for Everton to dump midfielder
Kevin Phillips has claimed that Everton need to sell midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin after his failure to deliver the goods.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former England striker and Premier League coach suggested that the 15-cap French international move to Goodison Park has not worked out, and that he must seek a new challenge elsewhere.
The 30-year-old has featured in one Premier League match since mid-December – the 2-2 draw against Newcastle United last week.
And Phillips believes that things are unlikely to improve for the player any time soon.
“It’s disappointing, he played for Manchester United, one of the biggest clubs in the world, and I think it’s just one of those you just go somewhere and it doesn’t work out,” he told Football Insider.
“Whether that’s through the style of play, the formation, it just hasn’t worked out so again another player – I think Sigurdsson has done better than Schneiderlin, 100 per cent – but again previous managers would have looked at that kind of experience to help them.

“But it just hasn’t worked out and perhaps he’s another player that needs to move on to bolster his career.”
Schneiderlin joined the Toffees from Manchester United in 2017 for a fee of around £20 million.
Since then he has clocked up 85 appearances on Merseyside, scoring just one goal which came in a 3-0 win over West Brom shortly after he signed.
