Kevin Phillips has hailed Giovani Lo Celso as a real find after his performance for Tottenham in their 2-1 win over Norwich City.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-England striker and former Leicester City, Stoke City and Derby County coach highlighted the Argentina international as a player with a big future at Spurs.

Lo Celso initially struggled to make an impression in north London after signing on a loan-to-buy deal from Real Betis last summer.

But the versatile midfielder is starting to find his feet and produced a man-of-the-match performance as Spurs got back to winning ways last night with a hard-fought victory.

"I thought he was good last night, again another player who's taken a while to settle
but I think it was a perfect game for him last night to showcase what he's got," Phillips told Football Insider.

"He's got talent, he's quick, dribbles with the ball really well. You've got him through the door so why not?

"I think he can only get better and better as Tottenham progress, certainly under Mourinho.

"If you can defend and then give the ball to your attacking players and let them go and play, Lo Celso's certainly a player that fits that mould."

Lo Celso warms up for Tottenham

Lo Celso was used in central midfield alongside Harry Winks as Mourinho tried out the latest in a series of combinations in that area of the pitch.

With injury ruling out Moussa Sissoko, Tanguy Ndombele was an unused substitute while Eric Dier and Christian Eriksen were brought on midway through the second half.
