Leeds United have made an approach to sign Forest Green Rovers attacker Reece Brown this summer, Football Insider understands.
Brown is in high demand after catching the eye at the League Two hopefuls this season with 10 goals and 14 assists to help the club secure a play-off spot.
Brown is out of contract at Forest Green this summer and is regarded as one of the best free agents in the Football League with a host of clubs ready to fight for his signature.
The likes of Bristol City and Reading have been credited with an interest in the former Birmingham City youngster, but a club source has told Football Insider that Leeds have expressed an interest in the attacking midfielder.
Brown would only cost a minimal compensation fee to interested suitors as he is under the age of 24 and he could be one of the bargains of the summer.
Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa is keen to add to his side’s attacking options next season whatever league they are in next term and Brown fits the bill as he is capable of playing on either wing or as a support striker.
