Exclusive: Liverpool player rejects five-year contract offer, summer exit on the cards
EXCLUSIVE By Pete O’Rourke
Liverpool rising star Rafael Camacho has rejected the club’s offer of a new five-year contract, Football Insider understands.
The Merseyside giants have held recent talks over a new deal with the highly-rated 18-year-old, who made his first-team debut for the club in January.
But a well-placed source has told Football Insider that nothing has been agreed and the club accept they may have to cash in on the Portugal Under-20 international this summer.
The attacking midfielder is out of contract at Liverpool in the summer of 2020 and the stalled talks mean it is increasingly likely he will be sold in the forthcoming transfer window.
Camacho came close to joining Sporting Lisbon on loan in January but, as revealed by Football Insider, Klopp blocked the transfer because he wanted him to stay in the first team squad.

The 18-year-old made his competitive debut for Liverpool in their January FA Cup defeat to Wolves playing in an unfamiliar right-back position and subsequently made a substitute appearance against Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
In other Liverpool transfer news, the club are set to sell Klopp’s first signing for a £20million-plus fee after his quit plan is revealed.
