Liverpool have been told they will need to submit a £50million bid to land Juventus star Gleison Bremer, sources have told Football Insider.

The 27-year-old has been identified as a top target at Anfield as they prioritise defensive reinforcements early in the summer window.

Bremer has been a standout performer in Serie A since joining Torino in 2018 and heading across Turin to Juve four years later.

Sources say Huijsen, 19, is seen as “one for the future” by Reds transfer chiefs - who still want to bring an additional defender to Anfield this summer.

Marc Guehi had been another option on the list following long-term interest, but Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (23 July) that Liverpool have been put off by Crystal Palace's demands of £70million.

The Merseysiders have also tracked Goncalo Inacio for an extended period and it is believed the Sporting CP defender's experience in Europe is particularly attractive to the Reds' transfer team.

Bremer, who has been capped five times by Brazil, is under contract in Turin until June 2028 after penning a new deal in December 2023.

Current captain and defensive stalwart Virgil van Dijk is only under contract at Anfield until June 2025 - and has hinted at a potential exit in recent months.
