Crystal Palace have lined up a shock move to bring Everton winger Yannick Bolaise back to the club after he became available on Monday, Football Insider understands.

Bolasie is currently back at Goodison Park after cutting short his season-long loan spell at Aston Villa 24 hours ago.

The DR Congo international struggled to hold down a regular spot in the Villa side with just nine of his 21 appearances coming as a starter.

Bolaise is unlikely to break into the Everton side upon his return to Goodison Park as he has yet to play under Toffees boss Marco Silva and he is likely to be on the move again before the close of the transfer window.

Crystal Palace are in the market for a winger in this month's transfer window with Wilfried Zaha predominantly being used in a central attacking role.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider the Londoners are readying a formal move to bring fans' favourite Bolasie back to Selhurst Park.

Bolasie spent four successful years at Palace between 2012-2016 before leaving for Everton in a reported £25million deal.

The skilful winger made 144 appearances for Palace and his potential return would come as a welcome boost to Palace as they battle to avoid relegation.
