Manchester United left-back Harry Amass is undergoing a medical at Sheffield Wednesday after agreeing the terms of a last-gasp transfer, sources have told Football Insider.

The 18-year-old is set for a switch to the Championship side in order to gain more experience at senior level.

Sources say that it will be a loan deal, with the final details of the agreement being ironed out.

Amass made four Premier League starts for Man United in the latter stages of last season, as well as a single substitute appearance.

Sheffield Wednesday eye signing spree after embargo twist

Sheffield Wednesday's transfer embargo was lifted last month, giving them a short window to make late moves in the market.

The Owls are still under heavy restrictions from the EFL, but will hope to get a number of deadline day deals over the line.

Earlier today (1 September), Football Insider exclusively revealed that Wednesday were in talks to sign Jaden Heskey from Manchester City.

It is clear that Henrik Pedersen's side are looking to utilise the loan market in the remaining hours of the window, and moves for the likes of Heskey and Amass could be vital in the Championship survival battle.

Man United agree permanent exit

Meanwhile, Antony is reportedly set to leave Man United on transfer deadline day after they finally agreed a deal with Real Betis.

That is according to their former chief scout, Mick Brown, who claims that the clubs have been locked in “non-stop” talks for weeks.

Brown told Football Insider in July that Man United were attempting to sell Antony and had instructed his agent to find a permanent move this summer.

Rival interest from Bayer Leverkusen emerged earlier in the window, but failed to materialise, leaving the door open for Betis to eventually reach a £21million agreement.
